1. Attached (per EMDC) please find the final venue and school allocation list for the FET NCS orientation training.
2. EMDCs are also in the process of notifying schools.
3. Please note that all workshops will start at 08:30 until 16:00 every day, except Friday where closure will be at 13:00.
4. In certain subjects, owing to late registration, a number of venues have been added and schools reallocated. Please take note of these changes and inform your teachers accordingly.
5. Teachers are urgently requested not to deviate from these arrangements. All management logistics are based on this allocation and, should teachers deviate, the catering arrangements and subject training material distribution would be seriously disrupted.
6. Only teachers officially registered and allocated according to the attached venue distribution list, will receive subject orientation material.
7. Should registered teachers go to venues of their own choice, they will be requested to go to their allocated venues.
8. Owing to the high costs involved, teachers will be provided with only light lunches. Morning and afternoon tea or coffee will be served.
9. The nature of the subject orientation programme will require a teacher to attend the full five-day subject orientation workshop. Should this not occur, the workshop will be of very limited professional value. In addition, teachers will not be permitted to attend later subject sessions for the reasons stated in paragraph 3.
10. Teachers will be reimbursed for travelling expenses. It is, therefore, essential that each teacher brings the following to the workshop:
10.1 His or her Persal number
10.2 Registration details of the vehicle he or she used for transport

11. Teachers making use of public transport must attach official receipts to their claims for travelling costs.
12. Where teachers travel by taxi, their claims must be accompanied by either the receipts issued or a letter from their principal stating expenditure incurred. Each teacher must submit a separate verified claim.
13. The following teachers will be reimbursed for both travelling and accommodation costs:
13.1 Registered teachers travelling from Beaufort West and Murraysburg to Oudtshoorn
13.2 Registered teachers for Dance Studies, Foreign Languages and Hospitality Studies.

14. No teacher will be reimbursed for travelling or accommodation costs if he or she travels to the workshop from his or her holiday destination.
15. Teachers must submit all claims to their respective EMDC chief curriculum advisers, who will manage expenses incurred.
16. Teachers are requested to bring the following documents to the subject orientation workshops. These documents were distributed to all schools and will not be provided again by the WCED:
16.1 The relevant subject statement
16.2 The ELRC Policy Handbook for Educators (2003)
16.3 The Draft White Paper on E-education (2003)
16.4 Analysis of New Knowledge, Skills, Methodology, IT and Assessment (issued to all subject teachers in 2004 during the subject scoping workshops)
16.5 Subject Information Guide (issued to all teachers in 2004 during the subject scoping workshops)

17. Teachers will receive the following documents at the subject orientation workshops:
17.1 A subject learning programme guideline document
17.2 Afrikaans versions of the subject statements
17.3 A subject participant’s manual
17.4 A subject workshop resource pack (It will be translated into Afrikaans and distributed during the third term.)
