The Directorate: Curriculum Development will offer FET NCS subject orientation workshops to all officials involved in teaching and learning support structures of the WCED on 9 and 10 June 2005.

Members of the Provincial Core Training Team (PCTT) will facilitate these workshops (See Annexure A). The initial five-day programme has been condensed to two days to minimise disruption of the officials’ core functions.

These workshops will enable WCED officials to support schools planning for the implementation of the FET NCS in Grade 10 in 2006. The programme will include a broad overview to provide an understanding of the teacher orientation programmes.

The two themes that will receive attention are The transformation of the FET curriculum and Classroom practice. The venues are indicated in Annexure B.

The orientation workshops will take place in subject context from 09:00 to 17:00 on 9 June and from 08:30 until 16:00 on 10 June.
