In addition to the PACE programme offered to schools, the WCED also supports further initiatives to provide support and guidance to both the teachers responsible for Life Orientation in primary and high schools, and the learners in Grade 9 who must make their subject choices for the Further Education and Training band (FET band), as well as those learners in the FET band leaving the school system for the world of work. |

Principals are requested to give the attached updated career guide, The South African Career Guide, 2005, which is available only in English, to the Life Orientation teachers at their schools. The guide must be recorded in the school inventory. |
