As indicated in paragraph 9.2 of Circular 0233/2003 of 2 December 2003, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) will publish only one vacancy list for post level 1 posts every year. Promotion posts (including posts of principal) will, however, be advertised at regular intervals during the course of the year.

Advertisement forms must be submitted to the WCED by no later than three weeks before the publication date of the vacancy list concerned. Principals must note that no late advertisements for vacant posts will be accepted.It is therefore of the utmost importance to ensure that advertisements are submitted to the WCED before the closing date. Similarly, no applications for advertised posts which are received after the closing date will be accepted.
