1. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has pleasure in announcing that the WCED web site, WCED Online at http://wced.wcape.gov.za now offers the following two services to heads of educational institutions.
1.1 A Teacher Finder database containing the names and particulars of unemployed educators. This will enable heads to identify suitable personnel to fill the vacant posts on their establishments.
1.2 An Appointment Tracker: temporary/contract educators database, which monitors the appointment of temporary and substitute educators. This will enable heads to track the status of the appointment process regarding temporary and substitute educators.
2. Both these facilities/databases can be accessed by logging on to the WCED website in the following manner:

  • Go to WCED website: http://wced.wcape.gov.za

  • Go to at your service

  • Click on Administrators

  • Click on Teacher Finder/Appointment Tracker: temporary/contract educators

  • Log in screen appears

  • Type in user ID (Emis no.)

  • Type in password (Pin no.)

  • Click on execute

  • Open Personnel Management Menu

  • Click on Teacher Finder/Appointment Tracker: temporary/contract educators

  • Select the appropriate database
3. The database is self-explanatory and user friendly and heads can request any information pertaining to educators registered on the database.
