1. The WCED will be running the Level 4 assessment in June 2004 according to the rules, criteria and standards as set. The Directorate: Examinations assumes full responsibility for organising and administering the assessment with the Directorate: Curriculum Development providing the necessary ABET expertise.
2. All registered WCED CLC’s are requested to enter their learners to be assessed in the learning area of their choice provided that they completed all the unit standards in the relevant learning areas. Where possible, all the learning area needs of the learners will be met. The Directorate:Examinations, however, reserves the right not to run an assessment for learning areas where the entry numbers might be too low. If less than ten(10) learners register for a certain learning area, no assessment of that learning area will take place.
3. Centre Managers are requested to complete the enclosed entry forms in respect of the learners of their CLC. The completed entry forms arranged in strict alphabetical order, together with Annexure A must reach this office not later than 19 April 2004. No late entries will be accepted.
4. Experience has proven that the Department experiences difficulties finalising entries for external examinations as a result of wrong entries. Requests for changes of learning areas received after finalising the entries and during the assessment create immense difficulties in the processing of results and also place an additional administrative workload on the Directorate: Examinations. No changes of learning areas will therefore be allowed after the entries have been finalised. Entry forms must therefore be completed with the utmost care.
5. Entry type:

Please indicate with the appropriate code whether the learner is from a Departmental ("Public") or an independent ("Industry") adult learning centre.

6. Centre managers must ensure that an entry form is completed for each learner who wishes to enter for the assessment. The entry form of a learner who is not available owing to illness or other unavoidable circumstances should be signed by the centre manager who should, however, indicate next to his or her signature that the learner was absent.
7. All completed forms must reach the Directorate: Examinations not later than Monday, 19 April 2004.
