1. SKYNET COURIERS will deliver question papers and marksheets in three consignments to examination centres. The first consignment question papers and marksheets (12 to 20 February 2004) for all EMDC's will be delivered on 5 and 6 February 2004. The second consignment (23 February to 5 March 2004) will be delivered on 17 and 18 February 2004. The third consignment (8 to 19 March 2004) will be delivered on 2 and 3 March 2004. Principals must ensure that they receive the correct number of boxes and sign for receipt thereof on the delivery note.
2. Please note that the question paper label do not differentiate between full-time, private and abet candidates anymore as previously. The capital letter "A" and "B" preceding the centre number is being replaced with the letter "Z". The label also indicates the different consignments.
3. On the delivery of question papers and marksheets, principals must ensure that they receive the corect number of boxes and sign for receipt thereof on the delivery note. These boxes may only be opened for the first time in the presence of the circuit manager. The circuit manager must report shortages of question papers and may do so by contacting Mr CA Berry at telephone number 021 467 2265.
4. In order to adhere to the safe-keeping of question papers, please complete the attached checklist in the presence of a departmental official/ chief invigilator and fax it immediately to the number provided.
5. To prevent irregularities regarding the safe-keeping of question papers and marksheets, the principal must ensure that these items are stored in a strongroom.
6. The principal is solely responsible for the safe-keeping of the keys. This also applies in cases where a school's question papers and marksheets are stored at another school or institution. The circuit manager must ensure that this instruction is meticulously adhered to.
7. Under no circumstances may question papers be removed from the school before or during the examinations. Arrangements should be made between the principal and the chief invigilator regarding the unlocking of the strongroom and other security matters related to examination papers.
8. The safe-keeping of question papers cannot be overemphasized and it is therefore imperative that every precaution be taken in the storage of question papers.
