1. The attached pre-printed claim forms (Addendum A) must be completed by the Chief Invigilator in respect of himself/herself and each assistant invigilator who performed duties at a particular centre. Please ensure that the claim form(s) is (are) completed in INK. The number of sessions must be confirmed by the principal/centre manager by counter-signing the claim form.
2. The Department must be notified in writing of any invigilator’s change of address that took place after submitting the nomination forms.
3. Prisons using invigilators other than their own staff, must please inform the Department of such arrangements in writing.
4. Invigilators will be remunerated at Departmental tariffs. You are reminded that independent schools and colleges are responsible for the remuneration of their invigilators.

NB: When paying invigilators, examination sessions before twelve noon will be regarded as morning sessions. (Timed-accuracy tests in Typing from 9:00 - 9:10 excluded.) Examination sessions commencing after twelve noon are regarded as afternoon sessions.

5. Claims received for replacement invigilators will only be processed if the correct procedure in respect of the nomination and appointment has been followed.
6. Please ensure that only the prescribed number of assistant invigilators per session are used. An explanatory letter must accompany the claim form for additional invigilators.
7. The majority of principals already agreed that invigilators monies may be paid into their schools’ bank accounts. In order to process these schools’ claims by 03 December 2004, their claim forms must be submitted to reach the Department not later than 24 November 2004. Claims received after 24 November 2004 will only be finalized in January 2005.
8. The claim form provides columns for Chief Invigilators who attended the compulsory training session to indicate the distance they travelled, whether within a radius of 75 km or further. (Claim only one session for less than 75 km; two sessions for more than 75 km)
9. Chief Invigilators who assisted with the receipt and checking of question papers must indicate their claim for this service in the appropriate column on the claim form. They may, however claim remuneration for only one further session for their assistance with the checking of the 3 consignments of question papers.
10. In order to expedite the remuneration of invigilators’ claim, the forms may be faxed to this office in which case the original claim form must be posted to the Department. The Chief Invigilator must keep a copy of the completed claim form for his/her record purposes.
11. NB: The original copy of claim forms must immediately after the last examination session at your centre, be forwarded in the quickest possible way - whether by post, courier service, or by hand to:
