Principals are requested to bring the following instructions timeously to the attention of candidates for the practical examination in Dance:

1. Candidates are not permitted to wear nail polish, make-up or jewellery.
2. Candidates must be well warmed up prior to the commencement of the examination.
3. Female Classical Ballet candidates must enter the examination room dressed in leotards, pink tights and pink ballet shoes - preferably flat or soft pointe shoes with pink ribbons.

Additional skirts may be worn for the variations or group dances. Each group shall be dressed similarly.

Small flowers may be worn in the hair.

4. Male Classical Ballet candidates must wear black tights, white tops, ballet shoes and white socks.
5. Modern African Dance and Contemporary Dance candidates must wear leotards and footless tights of any colour. Feet are bare.
6. Spanish Dance candidates must wear leotards, practice skirts and the required shoes.
7. Every candidate must bring his/her Admission Letter (examination number) into the examination room.
8. A towel may be brought into the examination room.
9. Drinking water may be provided.
10. The CASS marks for the practical examinations, tests and assignments must be available during the practical external examinations for moderation purposes. Evidence to support the allocation of marks should be available for perusal e.g. assessment checklists or marksheets.
