1. At a recent advocacy event presented in Cape Town by the national Department of Education it was announced by means of a brochure dated 30 September 2004 that the existing learning fields referred to on page 10 of the National Curriculum Statement Grades 10 - 12 (General) Overview had been amended.
2. The following table provides more information regarding the amendment to the learning fields and the regrouping of the subjects:

3. It must, however, be noted that the amendments to the learning fields and the regrouping of the subjects have not yet been declared policy. An announcement in this regard will be made in due course.
