In terms of the Western Cape Education Department's (WCED's) Interim Dance Policy of May 2000 schools may apply for a dance teacher annually. |

However, as the Interim Dance Policy is currently under review, schools to which a dance post has been allocated and where the teacher is still available, may retain their dance post for 2005. |

In a case where a school has lost its dance teacher on account of resignation, an effort will be made to replace the teacher. There is, however, a shortage of dance teachers at present. |

Schools which do not wish to retain their dance teacher post in 2005, are requested to inform the Director: Curriculum Development of this by fax 021 467 2620 or e-mail Jenny Rault-Smith (jrault-smith@pgwc.gov.za) by no later than Friday 12 November 2004. |
