1. The WCED will once again conduct a common examination for level 3 as indicated in Circular 74/2003. The examination will serve as a developmental process to enable learners to equip themselves with the skills needed to write a formal external examination.
2. All registered WCED CLCs are requested to allow their learners to write this examination in the learning area of their choice.
3. Centre managers are requested to complete the enclosed registration data form for each learner who will be writing the level 3 common examination. The form must reach Head Office by no later than 28 June 2004. If any entry form is received after the due date, the centre manager concerned will be responsible for the printing of the examination papers for his or her centre.
4. Mark sheets
4.1 This common examination will be marked internally at the centre.
4.2 The final examination mark, together with the CASS mark, will be presented as a percentage on the final schedule that will accompany the question papers later this year.
4.3 Centres will be responsible for providing learners with final reports for 2004.
4.4 The ABET curriculum advisers will moderate and approve the final learning area results.
4.5 A copy of the approved final schedule must be sent to Head Office so that learners can obtain statements of results from the WCED. These certificates will be sent to centres in 2005.
