As announced in Minute DCD/0014/2004, one promotional set of the Further Education and Training (FET) National Curriculum Statements (NCS) for 21 subjects as well as the Overview and the Qualifications and Assessment Policy Framework Grades 10 -12 (General), is hereby supplied to schools. |

Principals are requested to ensure that every FET teacher reads the Overview, the Qualifications and Assessment Policy Framework and his or her subject document, if it is included. The school is requested to keep a set of these documents as reference material. |

Each teacher is required to study the subject documents closely in order to determine, as far as possible, the specific content or skills upgrading which he/she will need in preparation for the introduction of the NCS. |

Three working copies of the NCS will be sent to each school later this year. |

Enquiries regarding the contents of this minute may be directed to directors and chief curriculum advisers attached to EMDCs. The FET web page on the Curriculum Development Directorate site at http://curriculum.wcape.school.za may be consulted for updates. |
