The scaling that was to be used from 2003 to convert the music percentages of Unisa and Trinity College of London (TCL) to bring them into line with the pass percentages required for all the other WCED subjects was provided in Paragraph 4 of WCED Circular 0206/2003. |

As certain shortcomings of this scaling technique were revealed during the 2003 Senior Certificate examination, the Unisa and TCL music marks were not scaled for this examination. |

The Interprovincial Examinations Committee (IPEC) is in the process of developing new procedures and techniques regarding the capturing of marks obtained by Senior Certificate candidates offering the Unisa or TCL Practical Music examinations. |

All schools will be duly informed as soon as an agreement on this matter has been reached at national level. |
