1. Circular 6/2004 indicated that the requirements for continuous assessment for Grades 10 and 11 (from 2004) and Grade 12 (2005) would be supplied to schools shortly.
2. Documents for all the major subjects (i.e. those offered at the majority of schools) are being couriered to schools.
3. Documents for the following subjects - those offered at a limited number of schools - should be collected from the Educational and Management Development Centres (EMDCs) between 9 March and 19 March 2004.

4. Schools are reminded that the "Transition" Documents, which were issued previously, contained suggestions about items and focuses for CASS. The documents which accompany this circular, however, contain the formal CASS requirements for recording for promotion purposes. Principals should ensure that all teachers not only study the subject specific requirements but also familiarise themselves with the generic section which is part (Section A) of each document.
5. Heads of educational institutions are requested to bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all educators, learners and parents/guardians.
6. Enquiries regarding the contents of this circular may be directed to directors and chief curriculum advisors attached to EMDCs.
