1. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) needs to be open, accountable and responsive to the public’s needs. To do this it needs a complaints management system that is underpinned by an effective complaints management policy and procedures.
2. The attached Complaints Management Policy and Procedures contains processes that need to be followed when a complaint is lodged within the WCED.
3. Principals are requested to study the procedure very carefully and to implement it consistently.
4. Kindly bring the contents of this circular and the Complaints Management Policy and Procedures to the attention of all district officials, school management teams, members of governing bodies and parents.
