1. Enclosed is a copy of the final timetable for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination of October-November 2017.
2. The examinations are scheduled to commence on 23 October 2017 and conclude on 28 November 2017. The Computer Applications Technology Paper 1 (CAT) and Information Technology Paper 1 (IT) practical examinations will be written on 16 and 17 October 2017 respectively.
3. Two examination sessions are scheduled for each day. The morning session will commence at 09:00 and the afternoon session will commence at 14:00.
4. Normal classes must continue until 13 October 2017, so as to ensure as much teaching time as possible. Principals of schools may choose to allow the Grade 12 learners of 2017 to study at home from 16 October 2017 in order to prepare for the NSC examination.
5. Principals are requested to report all timetable clashes to the WCED. Such reports must be submitted in writing by Friday, 28 April 2017 to the following address:

6. Principals are to inform all candidates writing the National Senior Certificate examinations that they must wear their school uniforms when writing each examination, and that they must be available until the last day of the school term (06 December 2017) in case it should be necessary, for whatever reason, to reschedule the writing of a particular examination paper.
