1. Enclosed is a copy of the final timetable for the February – March 2016 National Senior Certificate (NSC) Supplementary Examination.

2. The NSC Supplementary Examination is scheduled to commence on 10 February 2016 and conclude on 17 March 2016.

3. Two examination sessions are scheduled for each day. The morning session will commence at 09:00 and the afternoon session will commence at 14:00.

4. Registration forms for the Supplementary Examination were sent to all candidates who qualify for the examination. The completed registration forms must be posted to the following address:

5. The closing date for the Supplementary Examination entries is Wednesday, 20 January 2016. Principals of schools and candidates are requested to strictly adhere to this date, as late entries will not be accepted.

6. Examination centres for the writing of the Supplementary Examinations will be established at secondary schools and other venues, as determined by the Department.

7. Only external invigilators who were involved in the conduct of the November 2015 National Senior Certificate Examination will be used for invigilating this examination, as stipulated in their signed contracts. The 2015 senior invigilator will serve as a chief invigilator for the 2016 NSC Supplementary Examinations.

8. The chief invigilator must ensure that candidates enter the examination venue 35 minutes before the official starting time of the examination session. This time is to be used as follows:
8.1 The first 25 minutes must be used to settle the candidates in their correct seats, to distribute question papers, etc.
8.2 During the remaining 10 minutes candidates must be given an opportunity to read through the question paper.
8.3 No writing or making of notes is allowed at any stage during the 35 minutes. Any infringement of this rule will constitute an irregularity.
8.4 Candidates must finish writing at the time indicated on the examination timetable.

9. Principals are required to bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all candidates who wrote the October–November 2015 National Senior Certificate examination.
