1. Following the conclusion of PSCBC Resolution 2 of 2015 all employees who are appointed permanently or on probation may apply to change the payment date for their 13th cheque/service bonus. Attached please find a circular from the Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) in this regard. This provision also applies to educators.

2. The following conditions will apply in respect of the amendment:

  1. Employees are allowed to make a once-off election on the payment date for their 13th cheque/service bonus.
  2. Serving employees must submit their requests by 16 November 2015.
  3. Staff appointed with effect from 01 November 2015 shall, on the date of their appointment, be allowed to make a once-off election on the payment date for their 13th cheque/service bonus.
3. The new payment dates will be effective from 01 March 2016. If no request for a change in the payment date is submitted, employees will continue to receive their 13th cheque/service bonus in their birthday month.

4. Completed request forms (attached hereto) should be forwarded to the Directorate Service Benefits at Head Office by no later than 16 November 2015.

5. Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all staff.
