1. Attached is the timetable for the June - July 2015 Senior Certificate examination.

2. The examination commences on 01 June 2015 and concludes on 03 July 2015.

3. Note that examinations will also be written on Saturdays and during school holidays. The chief invigilators of the various examination centres must ensure that arrangements are made to accommodate the writing of examinations on Saturdays and during school holidays.

4. All subjects written during the first four weeks, except for the Saturday sessions, are scheduled for the afternoon session commencing at 14:00. The Saturday session and examinations written during the school holidays, will be written during the morning session at 09:00 whilst the afternoon session will commence at 14:00.

5. Examination centres for the writing of the Senior Certificate examination will be established at venues determined by the Western Cape Education Department (WCED).

6. With regard to the admission of candidates to the examination room, invigilators must ensure that every candidate produces his or her admission letter and identity document. Invigilators must enforce this admission requirement rigorously. However, a candidate who fails to produce the required document(s) before entering the examination venue must not be prevented from writing that particular examination. The candidate concerned must produce the required document(s) the following day. Should that candidate fail to do so, then an irregularity must be declared and the normal procedure pertaining to irregularities must be followed.

7. The chief invigilator must ensure that candidates enter the examination venue 35 minutes before the official starting time of the examination session. This time is to be used as follows:
7.1 The first 25 minutes must be used to settle the candidates in their correct seats, to distribute question papers and answer books and read out the examination regulations.
7.2 During the remaining 10 minutes, candidates must be given an opportunity to read through the question paper.
7.3 No writing or making of notes is allowed at any stage during the 35 minutes. Any infringement of this rule will constitute an irregularity.
7.4 Candidates must finish writing at the time indicated on the examination timetable.

8. Representatives from the WCED, Umalusi and the Department of Basic Education will monitor the examination processes at the examination centres.

9. Kindly bring the content of this circular to the attention of all candidates who intend to write the June - July 2015 Senior Certificate Examination.
