1. Enclosed is a copy of the final timetable for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination of October-November 2014.
2. This timetable has been endorsed by the Heads of Education Committee and approved by the Council of Education Ministers.
3. The examinations are scheduled to commence on 27 October 2014 and conclude on 28 November 2014. The Computer Applications Technology Paper 1 (CAT) and Information Technology Paper 1 (IT) practical examinations will be written on 20 and 21 October 2014 respectively.
4. Two examination sessions are scheduled for each day. The morning session will commence at 09:00 and the afternoon session will commence at 14:00.
5. Normal classes must continue until 17 October 2014, so as to ensure as much teaching time as possible. Principals of schools may choose to allow the Grade 12 learners of 2014 to study at home from 20 October 2014 in order to prepare for the NSC examination.
6. Principals are requested to report all timetable clashes to the WCED. Such reports must be submitted in writing by Thursday, 06 March 2014 to the following address:

7. Principals are to inform all candidates writing the National Senior Certificate examinations that they must wear their school uniforms when writing each examination, and that they must be available until the last day of the school term (10 December 2014) in case it should be necessary, for whatever reason, to reschedule the writing of a particular examination paper.
