The Provincial Government approved the Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS) in 2011 as the infrastructure delivery mechanism in the province. |

The Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documents that were compiled to assist with the implementation of the system. |

SOPs for maintenance have been developed and submitted to education district offices. |

Attached, please find the SOPs for emergency and scheduled maintenance. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED), in consultation with the Department of Transport and Public Works (DTPW), will review and refine the documents on an annual basis. |

However, if the SOPs are amended, the WCED will provide schools with the amended versions accordingly. |

Kindly note that the SOPs for emergency maintenance replaces Circular 175/2000. |

Please bring the content of this circular to the attention of all staff and members of the school governing body (SGB). |
