SUBJECT: | TIMETABLE AND ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATION: FEBRUARY – MARCH 2014 |

Enclosed is a copy of the final timetable for the National Senior Certificate (NSC) Supplementary Examination of February – March 2014. |
2. |
The NSC Supplementary Examination is scheduled to commence on 17 February 2014 and conclude on 25 March 2014. |
3. |
Two examination sessions are scheduled for each day. The morning session will commence at 09:00 and the afternoon session will commence at 14:00. |

Registration forms for the Supplementary Examination were sent to all candidates who qualify for the examination. The completed registration forms must be posted to the following address:

The closing date for the Supplementary Examination entries is Tuesday, 24 January 2014. Principals of schools and candidates are requested to strictly adhere to this date, as late entries will not be accepted. |
6. |
Examination centres for the writing of the Supplementary Examinations will be established at secondary schools and other venues, as determined by the Department. |
7. |
Only external invigilators who were involved in the conduct of the November 2013 National Senior Certificate Examination will be used for invigilating this examination, as stipulated in their signed contracts. The 2013 senior invigilator will serve as a chief invigilator for the 2014 NSC Supplementary Examinations. |

The chief invigilator must ensure that candidates enter the examination venue 35 minutes before the official starting time of the examination session. This time is to be used as follows: |
8.1 |
The first 25 minutes must be used to settle the candidates in their correct seats, to distribute question papers, etc. |
8.2 |
During the remaining 10 minutes candidates must be given an opportunity to read through the question paper. |
8.3 |
No writing or making of notes is allowed at any stage during the 35 minutes. Any infringement of this rule will constitute an irregularity. |
9. |
Principals are required to bring the contents of this circular to the attention of all candidates who wrote the October–November 2013 National Senior Certificate examination. |
