1. The Department of Basic Education released a National Catalogue (Annexure A) of Folklore Anthologies for schools who wish to offer folklore as a genre in isiXhosa, Sesotho and Setswana Home Languages in Grade 12 during 2015.
2. Schools that choose Folklore as a genre in 2015 for Home Languages: isiXhosa, Sesotho and Setswana are requested to complete section A of Annexure B. Schools who will not be offering Folklore as a genre in Grade 12 in 2015, must complete section B of Annexure B.
3. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) will fund the purchase of textbooks for Folklore Home Languages for schools who select this genre in Grade 12 for 2015.
4. Schools can use the current Grade 11 learner total plus 5% as an indicator for the number of learners for Grade 12 in 2015.

6. In order to ensure that these books reach schools by 30 October 2014, schools must email the completed Annexure B to the Learning and Teaching Support Material (LTSM) office at ltsmprojects@westerncape.gov.za or fax the completed Annexure B to Zandre Kleinschmidt at 086 771 4686 by 23 May 2014.
7. Kindly print copies of the National Catalogue (Annexure A) and bring it, as well as the contents of this circular to the attention of all relevant personnel.
