The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) received Circular E3 of 2014 from the Department of Basic Education (DBE) amending the 2014 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination timetable. |

According to the NSC timetable which has been circulated to the schools by means of Circular 0005/2014 dated 21 February 2014, the Engineering Graphics and Design Paper 1 is scheduled to be written on Wednesday, 05 November 2014, together with the non-official Languages: Portuguese HL, Portuguese FAL and SAL Paper 2, German HL, FAL and SAL Paper 2 and Hebrew Paper 2. |

It has, however, come to the attention of the DBE that there are learners who are offering both Engineering Graphics and Design and a non-official Language. |

To avert the clash alluded to in paragraph 3, the DBE has amended the October – November 2014 NSC timetable. |

The amended final 2014 NSC examination timetable is attached. |

It is imperative that school principals ensure that all teachers and candidates are informed of these amendments. |
