In order to improve its recruitment process, the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) introduced an on-line application facility for educator promotion posts during 2011. |
2. |
The experiences gained from the use of this facility have enabled the WCED to develop a system for on-line recruitment. |
3. |
The WCED is, therefore, proud to announce the introduction of the e-Recruitment System for Educators: "Recruiting the Best". The Recruitment System will be
available from 1 December 2012 and will be hosted on the department's website. |
4. |
The benefits for employees are as follows:
- The e-Recruitment System for Educators is dependent on employees capturing their curricula vitae on the system. Once a curriculum vitae is captured, an educator can apply for posts online.
- The curriculum vitae will be stored online, and may be edited online.
- The system is web-based and can be accessed on the Internet at http://wced.school.za/home/home.html
- For each application submitted, the system will immediately generate a letter acknowledging receipt of an application for a post.
- Applicants will no longer need to make copies of documents for each application submitted, pay postage fees or stand in queues to post an application before the closing date.
- An employee's profile on the system will be allocated a unique identification number.
- All advertised posts can be viewed on-line.

5. |
We attach a step-by-step guide for easy navigation of the system. |
6. |
Note that, as from 1 January 2013, all applications for educator posts must be submitted online. Educators are therefore urged to begin compiling their curricula vitae on the e-Recruitment System from 1 December 20] 2 onwards. |
7. |
Kindly bring this circular to the attention of all educators. |
