BRIEF SUMMARY:

New policy relating to air travel, road transport and accommodation for official purposes.


SUBJECT:

POLICY FOR AIR TRAVEL, ROAD TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION FOR OFFICIAL PURPOSES


1. The current practice of the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) is that the most suitable and economical form of air travel or road transport must be used for official purposes.
2. The WCED's Policy for Air Travel, Road Transport and Accommodation for Official Purposes (See attached annexure) was approved by the MEC on 15 June 2010.
3. This policy now replaces Circular 0185 of 2003 and is effective immediately.
