1. The amended Regulations on the Conduct, Administration and Management of Assessment of the Senior Certificate Examinations allows for the administration of the Senior Certificate examinations from May-June 2009 to May-June 2011.
2. Attached is the timetable for the part-time candidates who will be writing the Senior Certificate examinations in May-June 2009.
3. The examinations commence on 28 April 2009 and end on 25 June 2009.
4. For the majority of the days on which an examination subject will be written, there will be only one examination session per day, i.e. the afternoon session commencing at 14:00.
5. Examination centres for the writing of the Senior Certificate examinations will be established at venues determined by the Department.
6. The chief invigilator must ensure that candidates enter the examination venue 30 minutes before the official starting time of the examination session. This period of 30 minutes is to be used as follows:
6.1 The first 20 minutes must be used to settle the candidates in their correct seats, to distribute question papers, etc.
6.2 During the remaining 10 minutes candidates must read through their question papers.
7. No writing or making of notes is allowed at any stage during this period of 30 minutes. An infringement of this rule will constitute an irregularity.
8. Candidates must finish writing at the time indicated on the examination timetable.
9. Kindly bring the content of this circular to the attention of all candidates who intend to write the May-June 2009 Senior Certificate Examinations.
