The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) is experiencing problems with the processing of applications to perform other remunerated work outside of the Public Service.
|
2. |
The following are the problems most often encountered in this regard:
The application letter does not indicate the nature of the work that the applicant wishes to perform.
The recommendations of the relevant parties are not included.
Applications for the renewal of applications that have been approved for a period of only 12 months are not submitted.
The supporting documentation regarding applications to run private practices, for example those of psychologists or occupational therapy, is not submitted in full.
|
3. |
For the purposes of clarity, the steps for the various types of application to perform other remunerated work outside of the Public Service are set out as follows in the attached annexures:
Annexure A: General principles regarding applications to perform remunerated work outside the Public Service.
Annexure B: General principles regarding applications to run a private practice (eg. Psycologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, etc.).
Annexure C: General principles regarding applications to run a private business and/or to register a closed corporation.
|
4. |
It must be mentioned that the measures contained in Circular 0019/2005 still apply in terms of applications to serve as council members.
