The final lists of recommended literature study and prescribed books for Grades 7 to 12 in 2007 are enclosed.

The lists of literature study books for grade 10 learners for 2007 are the same as the ones for 2006 that were accompanied by Circular 0034/2005.

Pending the finalisation of the Subject Assessment Guidelines for First Additional Languages it is recommended that Grade 11 teachers initially select THREE genres. Short Stories should be included in your selection.

Second Additional Languages can select any TWO genres in Grade 11.

The lists have been compiled so as to minimise the buying of new books, but provision has also been made for the introduction of new books.

All requests and comments have been thoroughly considered and, where appropriate, amendments have been made to the provisional list.
