Circular 0030/2006 provided lists from which schools may select Gr 8, 9 and 11 textbooks to use to implement the National Curriculum Statement from 2007.

Unfortunately, there were errors and omissions in the Addendum A which accompanied Circular 0030/2006. Principals are requested to make the corrections and additions to Addendum A, as indicated in the tables below.

A new requisition form, Addendum C is provided for orders.

It is essential that Addendum D of Circular 0030/2006, requesting an outline of the school’s plan to retrieve textbooks, is completed and returned with the school’s requisition. No orders will be placed for a school unless Addendum D is returned with the requisition.

Principals are reminded that the selection of textbooks should be discussed with the relevant teachers and subject heads in good time so that the best choices can be made.

Principals are also reminded that schools may not stockpile textbooks purchased via the special projects and that CEMIS data is utilised to check figures. However, principals must ensure that sufficient books are ordered to accommodate the expected numbers in the grade for each of the next 3 years.

Addenda C and D must returned by 8 August 2006. Please note that no late orders will be paid for by the WCED.
