In accordance with Circular S3/2004 of the national Department of Education, the current practice of allowing Grade 11 public and independent school learners to enrol as private/part-time candidates for Senior Certificate assessment in certain subjects with the intention of obtaining a Senior Certificate with more than the required six subjects, will be terminated in December 2004. |

This means that from 2005 any candidate who wishes to offer seven or more subjects for the Senior Certificate will have to write all the subjects at the end of his/her Grade 12 year. |
