Principals are requested to inform all full-time Senior Certificate candidates at institutions under the jurisdiction of the Western Cape Education Department that their behaviour during the fourth term of their Grade 12 year remains subject to the agreed upon code of conduct of their institution. |

Principals must deal with disciplinary cases involving Grade 12 learners in the same way in which they would deal with any other disciplinary cases. The threat of withholding Senior Certificate results may not be used. Serious cases of misconduct must be dealt with according to the procedures set out in Circulars 0030/1999 and 0026/2000. |

Incidents that cannot be dealt with in the normal way by the institution and the governing body must be reported in full to the Head: Education for possible further action. The report must be addressed to Director: Curriculum Development, Western Cape Education Department, Private Bag X9114, Cape Town, 8000. A copy of the letter must be sent to the EMDC Director. |
