Collective Agreement No 8 of 2003 of the ELRC, Resolution no 8 of 2003: Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS), was signed by the employer and employee parties on 27 August 2003. |

The purpose of this agreement is to align, strengthen and support the different quality management programmes that are already in place through the implementation of the IQMS, which includes developmental appraisal (DA), performance measurement (PM) and whole school evaluation (WSE). The IQMS is, therefore, not a whole new system. |

Training is being planned for the countrywide implementation of the DA and PM components of the system. Further information about the training programme for these components of the IQMS for school management teams, school development teams and educators will be reaching schools soon. |

Information sessions on the WSE component of the IQMS will be conducted in all the EMDCs. |
| 5. |
The full implementation of the IQMS, which will contribute significantly towards making the WCED's vision of “Quality Education for All” a reality, will begin in January 2004. |
