5. A maximum of ONE Trinity College OR Unisa Practical Music subject may be offered in combination with Senior Certificate subjects.
6. For the purpose of calculating the aggregate required for the issuing of a Senior Certificate (minimum 720 marks), the relevant Trinity College of London or Unisa Practical Music Examination mark will be calculated as follows:
6.1 In the case of a six subject combination, the Music mark will be included in the aggregate.
6.2 In the case of a seven or seven plus subject combination, the aggregate will be determined on the basis of the marks obtained for the two required languages and the four best marks for the subjects for South African learners, and the one required language and the marks obtained for the five best subjects for immigrant candidates.
7. No conversion or condonation will apply to the relevant music examination results.
8. Candidates presenting only five approved subjects plus the relevant music examination from either TCL or Unisa are enrolled as part-time candidates and, as such, their results will not appear in the result lists for full-time candidates.
9. Candidates presenting six or more approved subjects plus the relevant music examination from either TCL or Unisa are enrolled as full-time candidates.
10. A TCL and/or Unisa Practical Music Examination may not be offered in combination with Music Higher Grade or Standard Grade. However, candidates offering either a TCL or a Unisa music subject may also offer Music Performance (Second Instrument) Standard Grade as a recognised Senior Certificate subject.
11. In the case of candidates presenting six or more approved Senior Certificate subjects in combination with a TCL or a Unisa music subject, the TCL or Unisa Music examination must be written and passed within six months of the Senior Certificate examination so that the group examination character required for university admission is maintained.
