In pursuance of Circulars 0095/2003 of 16 April 2003 and 0136/2003 of 18 June 2003, respectively, you are hereby informed that applications for the severance package of staff members who have been declared in excess and who have possibly missed the previous cut-off date, may be received for consideration up to and including 12 September 2003. Excess staff are, however, encouraged to submit their applications timeously as applications cannot be dealt with after the lapsing of Resolution 7/2002. There will then not be any legal basis for the granting of these packages. |

With regard to the exit date of service, i.e. the last day of duty, the WCED is obliged to give employees one month`s notice of termination of service. In view of this, employees whose applications are approved now will leave the service of the WCED with effect from 1 November 2003. |
